The Danish Museum is at the site of the Dickson Dormitory
School, with the property being developed into traditional
Danish themes. Some features include a Viking ship and
island, man-made lake, miniature castle and drawbridge. Open
May 1 to September 30.

Our Museum consists of a village depicting buildings of the
past, each one filled with many artifacts. We have a picnic
area and facilities for a wiener roast, skating and a
dress-up shop to really get into the feeling of the era.
Everyone is more than welcome; groups, individuals, tours
and school classes are examples, but we are always open for
suggestions. There are many farm animals to view, sleigh
rides and hay rides are also available. Please phone ahead

- Fort Normandeau Historic Site

An historical interpretive centre which includes a replica
of the fort using some original logs. The story of the Red
Deer Crossing is displayed through dramatic programs,
exhibits and artifacts.
- Norwegian Laft Hus Society

The Laft Hus is a replica of a 17th century Norwegian log
farm house. Norwegian Museum, Cultural Centre, Tourist
Attraction located South of Red Deer and District Museum in

Opened in 1985, the Royal Tyrrell Museum is known the world
over as an outstanding paleontology museum and research
facility. The Government of Alberta under the ministry of
Community Development operates the Museum. Our mandate is to
collect, conserve, research, display and interpret
paleontological history with special reference to Alberta’s
fossil heritage.
