Founded in 1987, The Red Deer Symphony is one of Alberta’s
most dynamic arts organizations. A regional professional
orchestra, it performs six main concerts in a season in
addition to a variety of outreach programs that sees the
musicians perform as far as Delburne and Rocky Mountain
House. The orchestra and its music Director Claude Lapalme
are known not only for their excellence, but also for the
variety and originality of their programming and for the
warmth and friendliness they provide to the concert
experience.

From its humble beginning in 1970 Central Alberta Theatre
has grown to epitomize, for thousands of Central Albertans,
the good things in life here in the region: friendship,
dedication, self-sufficiency, creativity and warmth of
heart. Over the years C.A.T. has lived up to its mandate to
produce excellence and opportunity in theatre through
Participation, Performance and Enjoyment. As an arts group
C.A.T. offers its members training and opportunities to
participate in a variety of theatrical productions
throughout its season. People have come to realize that,
through CAT, they can see themselves and their neighbours on
the stage in a way never before experienced.

The Laft Hus is a replica of a 17th century Norwegian log
farm house. Norwegian Museum, Cultural Centre, Tourist
Attraction located South of Red Deer and District Museum in
Heritage Square.

Red Deer Cultural Heritage Society operates the historic
Cronquist House, a three story Victorian style Brick
farmhouse built in 1911 by one of Red Deer's early settlers.
This non-profit society operates Cronquist House (at Bower
Ponds) and Festival Hall (by the Memorial Centre). Cronquist
House offers meeting room space and catering facilities.
Festival Hall accommodates 300 people for meetings to
receptions. Formerly named the Folk Festival, the Society is
best know for producing Canada Day celebrations at Bower
Ponds since 1980. Programs each year involve about 10,000
participants.

les anglophones de la province. Faire du développement
communautaire au profit de la population francophone de
l'Alberta en général et plus particulièrement à Red Deer
étant donné que nous avons un mandat régional.
OUR OBJECTIVES
To promote intellectual, cultural, social, economic and the
general moral well-being of the French-speaking Albertan. To
improve provincial francophone and anglophone relations. To
facilitate community development the better to serve a
French-speaking population; more particularly Red Deer since
we have a regional mandate.
